The Hermosa Beach Sand Section is bordered by The Strand and the Pacific Ocean to the West and the Valley Ardmore Greenbelt to the East. You can find everything for sale from original beach bungalows to new construction mansions and many homes have ocean views. There are a few "walk streets" though not as many as in Manhattan Beach.
Hermosa Beach Valley is bordered by the Valley Ardmore Greenbelt to the West and Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) to the East except for the area north of Pier Avenue where houses West of the Greenbelt are also considered Hermosa Beach Valley. There are many single family homes, attached and detached townhouses and condos within walking distance to the beach, downtown Hermosa, restaurants, entertainment and everything else Hermosa Beach has to offer. Home prices may be slightly lower than just a few blocks further West and for many the quality of life is very similar to their neighbors closer to the beach.
East Hermosa Beach is bordered by Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) to the West and Redondo Beach to the East. Although the homes may seem to be quite a distance from the beach, it is a brisk walk or easy bike ride for the physically fit which many Hermosa Beach residents are. Some of the numbered streets offer homes with ocean views which do demand a price premium.
